What is the performance comparison of various carbonaceous raw materials?
Conductivity: graphite broken > needle coke > petroleum coke > asphalt coke > metallurgical coke no Coal:
Mechanical strength: anthracite > bituminous coke > metallurgical coke petroleum coke;
Ash: needle coke "asphalt coke < petroleum coke < anthracite < metallurgical coke:
Graphitization performance: needle coke > petroleum coke > bituminous coke > metallurgical coke
Corrosion resistance: anthracite > graphite > smelting coke > asphalt coke petroleum coke.
What materials does graphite electrode production use?
(1) raw materials for the production of artificial graphite electrodes.
All low ash materials such as petroleum coke and asphalt coke are used to produce high quality graphite electrode.
Bituminous coke is added to improve the strength of the product.
The production of ordinary power graphite electrode, the general quality of petroleum coke can be used as raw material;
Production of high power graphite electrode, using high quality petroleum coke and part of the needle coke;
To produce ultra-high power graphite electrode, high quality needle coke must be used as raw material.
In order to improve the lubricity and plasticity of the paste and improve the conductivity of the product, graphite fragments were also added into the graphite electrode production ingredients.
(2) raw materials for the production of natural graphite electrodes.
Using selected natural graphite as raw material and coal asphalt as binder, natural graphite electrodes can be produced without graphitization.
However, this kind of electrode has higher resistivity, lower mechanical strength, and is easy to break in the process of use.
(3) raw materials for the production of regenerated graphite electrodes.
The recycled graphite electrode can be produced by using the processed cutting debris or waste products of graphite material as the raw material, after grinding, and no graphitization is required.
These electrodes have less than 1% ash content, are less conductive than artificial graphite electrodes, and have about 1.5 times the resistivity of graphite electrodes, but are better than natural graphite electrodes.
