Electrode paste hanging or Electrode electrode bridging refers to electrode paste lumps are stuck inside the electrode shell, unable to melt and sinking properly, creating a large gap between the molten electrode paste and the sintered electrodes below. Typical characteristics include prolonged periods without a decrease in the height of the electrode paste column and significant amounts of yellow fumes emanating from the top of the electrode shell. Electrode Paste Hanging, due to the discontinuous melting of the electrode paste, easily leads to a decrease in electrode strength and an increase in unit consumption. It can even cause accidents such as electrode soft break and hard break, resulting in furnace shutdowns and reduced production, posing significant safety hazards.
There are many reasons for electrode paste bridging , including but not limited to: electrode paste lumps of varying sizes getting stuck in the electrode shell ribs; excessively high electrode paste columns, making it difficult for the upper portion of the paste to soften and sinking;
temperature effects, such as insufficient furnace preheating in low ambient temperatures;
Unreasonable electrode paste formulation, resulting in an excessively high softening point and insufficient fluidity.
Preventive measures and solutions for electrode paste bridging:
1. Prioritize molded Cylindrical electrode paste, as its overall structure is stable, heating is uniform, and its own weight helps it sink smoothly. Selecting qualified Cylindrical electrode paste with compacted texture and suitable softening point for the furnace type, which can fundamentally reduces the rate of paste bridging formation.
2. Raw material control: Electrode paste raw materials are thoroughly crushed and sieved according to processing standards. When adding electrode paste into the electrode shell, ensure consistent size and adhere to the principle of adding small amounts frequently and gently at close range.
3. Maintaining stable furnace temperature: Especially in winter, use the furnace preheating device throughout the process to ensure the upper section of the electrode paste column remains molten.
4.Stable operation and regular inspection: Maintain suitable electrode paste column height. Measure the column height every 4 hours. If there is no descent for 8 hours, workers should intervene immediately. Regularly tap the cylinder wall to listen for internal sounds and check the condition, while preventing foreign objects from falling in.
